Estella Bartlett is a quintessentially British jewellery brand created in 2011 by brother and sister Nick and Louise Bartlett. It is defined by its playfully chic approach.
About Estella
Intricate star, unicorn and pineapple charms on delicate silver- and gold-plated necklaces… Friendship bracelets woven in colourful threads of mint, chartreuse and lilac or a classic palette of blush, grey and navy… All carefully presented in packaging given just as much thought. Positive and inspiring musings add a personal element now synonymous with the brand, while a reversible inner card allows the customer to write their own message. Together with accessible price points, it’s these little touches that make Estella Bartlett jewellery the perfect gift.
The inspiration
Whimsical charms and delicate materials combine with the essence of the season to define Estella Bartlett jewellery. Minimal packaging with a dreamy cloud motif provides the finishing touch to this modern, playful brand. Creative Director Louise designs each collection. Inspiration is drawn from trips to Paris and Tokyo, antique markets, memories of a childhood spent in the Caribbean, the countryside of her New Forest family home, and the urban life surrounding her Primrose Hill apartment.
Where it began
While sitting, notebook poised, on the front row of Vivienne Westwood’s Autumn-Winter 2010 show, a text popped up on Louise’s phone. “Sis, you and I should go into business together!” Nick, who had been running a jewellery business for eight years, felt that together they could create something special – a brand that combined his business acumen with his sister’s fashion credentials. A few months later in June 2011, Estella Bartlett was born, and four years on retailers including Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges carry the brand.
About Louise
Louise has a master’s degree in Fashion Marketing from the London College of Fashion. During her student days, Louise sold vintage jewellery and organised charity fashion shows. She later worked for Ralph Lauren, Smythson and Condé Nast’s W and WWD. She is now Creative Director of Estella Bartlett.
About Nick
Nick has an economics degree from Durham University. His love of travelling and his entrepreneurial spirit led him to a jewellery workshop in Bali, where he placed his first order of 1,000 bracelets aged just 18. He has since gone on to set up a number of businesses, including Estella Bartlett.
